When Paul said “…creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” He wasn’t lying. Creature is actually waiting.

Last week, I declared my intention to run for a post in my department (the largest department in UI by the way). From the minute I declared my intention to now, I’m still unable to get over the overwhelming support I’ve received.

Between last week and now, I’ve gotten a campaign manager, three e-fliers and people in my DM rooting for me and enlightening me on what to do. It feels like all these while, they’ve filled their jugs with support and they’ve been waiting for me to step out so they can pour all of that support on me.

People believe in me so much that they think I’m overqualified for the position I’m going for but it’s not about the position. I’m not going for the PRO of my department because of the office persay. I’m going because there’s a problem I’m equipped to solve in my department and the best place to solve this problem from is the office of the PRO. I’m using this medium to appreciate everyone that has been pushing me, loving me, teaching me, praying for me, praying with me and supporting me.

It’s surreal and it’s amazing. I’m excited and I’m grateful. I’m brimming with ideas and energy and I just want these people to know that they’re not waiting in vain. It is time and we meuveee. Like I’ve been saying. I go in the power of the one that has sent me. Glorayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

My election is on the 28th of October. 5 days after my birthday and I really can’t wait. But until then, we pin!!!!

In other news, yesterday was the handover in CFi (Christian Fellowship International); my fellowship, my family. I’m the new head of Media and Publicity. Although before Saturday, I was quite fixated on Bible Study, the Holy Spirit began to prepare my mind for the position on Saturday. (I’m still shaking my head at God because what kind of set up is this?)

See, God is a masterplanner. The irregularities we call mistakes are all a part of God’s plan. See, God is a meticulous planner. How do I explain this to you? You can not out-mistake God’s plan. I mean if we weigh your ability to mess up with God’s ability to plan perfectly, you will massively fall short. Even David, one of the most “sinner-ful” people in the Bible couldn’t out-sin God’s mercy.

If you’re supposed to get somewhere by 9am and you get stuck in traffic, lose your wallet, get lost and get there by 11am, you’re right on time because my guy, there’s no coincidence with God. Wait, you think you can stop God’s plan for your life? You rate yourself gan o. Leemao. (God dey call you, you talk say you dey do assignment. If you finish the assignment, who you go submit to?)

If you like run. If you like hide. If you like tell yourself what everyone is saying and what your Spirit is saying is a lie and pursue the exact opposite of what God is calling you to do. Las las, like Jonah, a fish will swallow you and spit you where you want to be just like a fish swallowed me from Bible Study and spat me in Media where I should be (I think say I wicked. Well, God wickeder than me). I trust you understand that all these doesn’t mean you should intentionally be a goat. God is love and God is just.

Sometimes, I imagine how much God laughs at our cluelessness. He must have been laughing at all my attempts to fine tune and tweak my destiny because you know, I like background work and Media and Publicity is not my thing (I’ve said this thing a million times because I was trying so hard to convince myself). Omoooo. He must have laughed. How he must have laughed when I stopped my podcast because it’s not in sync with what I want to do with my life in the long run. Leemaooo. Guess who’s about to start a new podcast and a talkshow?

Now, these things seem like mistakes yeah. Like errors and “messop” on my part but I tell you that they’re all part of God’s plan. You see the goal is not to understand why God does everything he does. The most important thing is to see God’s hand in everything. Even in the not understanding. A line from Hilsong’s New wine says “when I trust you, I don’t need to understand”. This is it. Do I fully understand everything God is doing with, in, for and through me? No. Do I trust him nonetheless? Absolutely yes. Why? Because I see him in all these things and that’s enough. I see his hand in my life and I trust his careful hand. I don’t need to know the details of the workings of his hand. I see it. I know it’s God and I rest.

Fam, trust God. Don’t put your trust in him. Find your trust in him. You think time is going. Your mates have done this. Your mates have done that. You’ve made too many mistakes. Your life is looking nothing like God said. Your mates are occupying higher positions even the ones you think you’re better than are handling great things. It’s now like everyone is cooking with gas and you’re here struggling with a stove even your kerosene has finished. My guy, do what God did on the seventh day, rest. It’s not about where you are. It’s who you’re with.

If you’re in the highest position without God, you have every reason to worry. However, if you occupy the least position with God, Ah! You’re not greater because to whom would we compare someone with God? You’re great. On a class of your own. Infact, add extra shoulder pads to your suit because you literally do not have a problem. You’re made.

You see that habit of guilt tripping and manipulating God with your prayers, stop it. No be you go tell God wetin he go do and the earlier you align with his purpose for your life, the better for you. The funniest thing is that this purpose is usually something we love and something we naturally excel at but you see laziness and that spirit of “I too sabi” that’s what the devil uses to disturb and distract us. Fight these things. Kick them out of your mind and establish yourself in God’s word.

This a message of encouragement. Please understand that life is service. Whatever you are or become in this life, whatever capacity you function in, you’re still serving something or someone. I’m imploring you to let that person be God and let that service be done in love. In your spiritual life, in your academic life, in your professional life, in every area of your life, serve in love. In whatever capacity, serve in love. Stay humble, trust God, love the people he died for and shine.

Remember it’s not where you are that matters, it’s who are with and Isaiah 41 vs 10 says he’s with you so what’s your problem? Your steps are divinely ordered = your mistakes are ordered, your misteps are ordered. As you’re falling down, grace is pulling you up. As you’re falling short, mercy is filling you up. As you’re growing weak, love is making you strong. So wherever you are, remember that God a.k.a all that matters is in you, with you, by you and for you.
